Empowering women to take control of their health
”... mammograms miss 10-15 percent of all cancers. “That’s why it’s important that women have every tool possible,”
Dr. Patricia Redmond, M.D. Director of Radiology at Staten Island University Hospital, New York City.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide. In the UK, approximately 750 women are diagnosed each week which amounts to over 41,000 new cases each year. 250 women die of the disease every week.
However, it is a well-known fact that the earlier a cancer is detected, the higher the chance of successful treatment and survival.
One of the simplest methods for early detection is for all women to be “breast aware” by checking their breasts for lumps or changes each month. In reality, though, very few women regularly do this. Some women may be unsure how to do a breast examination and others may find it difficult to distinguish normal breast tissue from a genuine lump.
Introducing the revolutionary Breast Chek . . .

“My mission was always the early detection of breast cancer for the best survival. I am thus very excited about Breast Chek as a new instrument in our quest to make women more breast-aware. It will surely contribute to earlier detection. “
Dr. Alwyn Carstens, Breast Radiologist, Eastleigh Breast Care and Woman's Health Centre, Pretoria, South Africa
Now, women have the ultimate tool to help with early detection of a breast lump with the Breast Self-Examination Kit from Plexus Pink. It’s simple to use and is very accurate in determining abnormalities by magnifying your sense of touch. This enables a lump as small as a grain of rice to be detected. Dr. Withers, a surgeon at Maui Clinic, says the Breast Chek aid has twice enabled him to feel otherwise undetectable lumps. "There is no question that the Breast Chek aid increases tactile ability", he says "it makes an exam 100% easier."
Gale Katterhagen, medical director of the cancer centre at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA, says tests he conducted indicated that women who used the Breast Chek aid were 22% more likely to perform monthly breast self-exams.
